How the legal guarantee and our warranty work

Warranty and legal guarantee

Your legal guarantee under EU consumer law

As a consumer you have a legal guarantee of conformity under EU consumer law (Directive (EU) 2019/771) and the national law that implements it. We are responsible for any fault that existed when you received the part and that becomes apparent within at least two years of delivery.

If a fault becomes apparent within at least the first year after delivery, it is presumed to have existed at delivery unless we can show otherwise. Where the applicable law gives you a longer period, that period applies.

Please tell us about the fault as soon as possible after you discover it. Notifying us within two months of discovering it is always in time.

The legal guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear, accident damage, incorrect fitting or incorrect use.

Our own warranty

In addition to the legal guarantee, we provide a warranty on our parts according to the terms stated for each product. The warranty is an extra benefit and never limits your rights under the legal guarantee.

If a part is defective, it will as a rule be replaced with a new one. Depending on the cause of the fault, we may in some cases also cover the cost of replacing it.

How to report a fault

Contact CVJoint24 before doing anything else. This reduces the risk of consequential damage and lets us assess the fault correctly.

When you make a claim, we ask for photos of the car standing on its wheels, taken from the front, the rear and both sides. The photos are part of the assessment.

What we need to assess your claim

  • The part must have been fitted professionally and correctly.
  • All parts belonging to the item you are claiming for must be returned.
  • If parts are missing from the return, it may be difficult for the manufacturer to investigate the fault fully.

CV boots and CV joints

A drive shaft that has bottomed out in the inner CV joint is exposed to loads that can damage both the inner and the outer CV joint. Such damage is not caused by a fault in the part.

The same applies if the CV boot has split or a clamp has come loose because of external damage, such as stone chips, branches or other impacts. The boot is the joint’s only protection for its grease, so check regularly that your CV boots are intact.

Parts ordered for cars with self-levelling suspension, sports suspension or lowered suspension are only covered if the product is expressly stated to fit these specifications.

Complaints and disputes

If you are not satisfied with how your claim has been handled, please contact us first – we can usually find a solution together.

If we cannot resolve a dispute together, you as a consumer may refer it to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN, www.arn.se), which accepts complaints in English from consumers in other EU countries, or contact your national consumer authority or the European Consumer Centre (ECC-Net) in your country.

Parts sent in for assessment may be opened, cut or sent to the manufacturer for analysis, and are therefore not returned.
