If you only hear clicking noises when cornering, it is usually just the outer CV joint that needs replacing. If, on the other hand, you experience vibrations during acceleration or if the CV boots on both joints are split, it is often more economical and safer to replace the complete drive shaft.

Many components are shared between the models, but because the Grand Modus has a longer wheelbase, certain drive shafts can differ in length or design. Always select your vehicle make, model and engine to ensure you get the correct part for your specific body variant.

The most common sign is a knocking or clicking noise that speeds up with the rotation of the wheels when you turn. You can also check if the CV boot is split and whether grease has leaked onto the inside of the wheel.

Splines are the teeth that lock the joint onto the shaft and into the wheel hub. If the tooth count does not match precisely, the part will not fit, or it risks damaging the mating component. Renault uses several different configurations depending on engine size.

We do not recommend it. When the boot splits, lubricating grease is lost and road dirt penetrates the joint. This leads to very rapid wear of the constant velocity joint, which can result in total failure and leave the car unable to drive.
