Vibrations from a propeller shaft are often felt throughout the entire vehicle body and tend to increase linearly with speed, regardless of whether you are turning or driving straight. Vibrations from a drive shaft, especially from the inner CV joint, are usually most noticeable under acceleration and may disappear when you lift off the accelerator.

No, drive shafts differ between rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive (xDrive) models. Furthermore, xDrive models have front drive shafts that are not present on rear-wheel-drive versions. Always select your specific make, model and engine to ensure you get the correct part.

A clicking noise when cornering is a classic sign of a worn outer CV joint. This is usually caused by grease escaping through a split or damaged CV boot, leading to premature wear inside the constant velocity joint.

On many BMW 6 Series models, it is possible to replace just the outer CV joint. However, if the inner joint is also worn or the shaft itself is heavily corroded, replacing the entire drive shaft as a complete assembly is often more cost-effective and reliable.

Although the ABS ring does not transmit power, it is frequently mounted directly on the outer CV joint. A cracked or corroded reluctor ring sends faulty signals to the vehicle safety systems, which can trigger unwarranted ABS or traction control intervention.
