Fit a CV boot in fractions of a second!

Here we show you how to fit our rubber or silicone CV boots quickly and easily. Done the right way, it takes literally a fraction of a second.

At CVJoint24, we specialise in drivetrain components and are virtually unique in dedicating ourselves entirely to this niche yet complex field. Drive shafts in particular are extremely intricate, with several thousand distinct drive shafts across the most common makes alone—and it becomes more complex with each model year, bringing countless completely different shafts for every car model.

Nowadays, many original drive shafts come fitted with thermoplastic boots that struggle to cope with harsh winter conditions. They tend to split in freezing temperatures, get pierced by stone chips, or—as on many BMW models—suffer from sharp front-wheel steering angles that put immense stress on rigid plastic boots. Combined with sub-zero temperatures and gravel, a split plastic boot is almost inevitable.

Here we demonstrate the fastest conceivable way to fit a CV boot. Our nitrile rubber and silicone boots fit 95% of all passenger car outer CV joints that are round. Differing joint dimensions are no issue, as every boot can easily be trimmed to size.

The beauty of our black nitrile rubber boots and silicone boots is that they save an enormous amount of time: they can simply be pushed over the CV joint using an installation cone or expanded with a pneumatic boot gun. That way, you never have to knock off the CV joint just to replace a damaged boot.

This short video demonstrates just how fast it really is. Simply spray a generous amount of penetrating lubricant or WD-40 onto the cone and inside the boot, then push the boot firmly and swiftly over the cone covering the joint. If you are replacing an outer CV joint boot, simply turn it inside out before sliding it over.
